Blue Velvet Owl Coin Purse

There's a rather lovely little lesson taking place on this blue velvet coin purse. A wise mother owl sits upright on her branch while her slightly dishevelled youngster nestles alongside — as though she's quietly instructed, “Be quiet and watch.”

It's a charming composition, but look closely and there's some very clever textile work behind those two characters.
